Organic hazelnuts, like other nuts, are very rich in unsaturated fat and carbohydrates. This is one of the reasons why hazelnuts have been part of the staple diet since the Stone Age. Hazelnuts can be used in baked goods, desserts, homemade muesli and salads. Roasting them briefly in a dry pan brings out their flavour. Hazelnuts grow wild in Denmark , so there is also the possibility of picking hazelnuts yourself and getting them fresh in season Sept. - Fresh hazelnuts also go really well with port wine and cheese.
