In the flowers of sunflowers grow a lot of seeds, which when shelled become edible sunflower seeds. The seeds are most often used in baked goods, but are also delicious in green salads. To enhance the flavour of sunflower seeds in green salads, the seeds can be toasted with a little olive oil and sea salt in a hot pan for a few minutes until the seeds take on colour.
