Tailless freeze-dried strawberries are made by freezing the fresh berries to minus 20 degrees and then placing them in freeze-drying cabinets. Heat and vacuum are applied so that the ice in the products evaporates without drying out. This process produces 'clean' products without any additives. They retain all nutrients, minerals and vitamins. They also retain their colour and texture, as well as their intense and strong flavour. They have a long shelf life if stored correctly and the risk of virus is virtually non-existent after freeze-drying.
