An insight into everyday life

About Haugesund

Environmental activities

The Haugesund factory complies with the Norwegian Working Environment Act and focuses on promoting a safe, inclusive and efficient workplace for employees. Management strives to carry out preventive environmental work by conducting employee surveys and interviews, gaining valuable input to improve well-being.

For many years, the factory has measured energy consumption per kilo produced, and through ongoing studies, there is a continuous focus on being as energy efficient as possible. One energy-saving initiative has, for example, been to invest in a new production line that produces faster with lower energy consumption, resulting in more energy-efficient production.

In 2022, the factory launched a collaborative project with the factory's largest jam customer to reduce the amount of plastic through more weight-efficient packaging solutions to increase the utilization rate per cubic meter in transport. This will help to reduce CO2 emissions from the trucks and reduce capacity requirements in the factory's warehouse.

The Haugesund factory is also a member of Grøn Punkt Norway, which strengthens the factory's work on environmental responsibility and recyclability in production. In continuation of the membership, all packaging was updated in 2021 with new recycling symbols and the Grøn Punkt symbol to increase the amount of correctly sorted packaging at the end consumer.
