Jakobsens

Environmental activities

For many years, the factory in Aulum has had a continuous focus on optimizing and streamlining the production processes. Through this proactive approach, it has succeeded in increasing production capacity by 25%, while still using the same amount of energy. This is a significant environmental measure, as the production emits less CO2.

Aulum has also implemented another initiative to reduce energy consumption, which is to optimize the palletizing of products for transport. When goods are palletized, there is no operation, but even if the operation stops, there is still energy consumption. By making palletizing more efficient and packaging the goods more optimally, there are fewer hours when operations are stopped. This results in a reduction of energy waste, which is good for the environment.

The factory in Aulum has also achieved Fairtrade certification for honey production. This certification is highly regarded as it considers the environment in production and ensures that beekeepers receive a fair income and good working conditions, regardless of country of origin.
