At the Lipsko plant, the team is constantly working to identify environmental initiatives to reduce the plant's energy consumption. For example, the factory has optimised energy in their frozen goods department, where a heat exchanger has been installed in their compressors. This heat exchanger allows the heat from the oil in the compressor to be used to heat the production workers' changing rooms in the department. Another example comes from the jam department, where the team has moved the large compressor closer to the department's label machine, which until then had been kept warm by electricity. From the compressor, a pipe connection has been installed that will generate the compressor's hot air flow on to the labelling machine. In this way, the heat is well utilised and the factory can save electricity.
At the Lipsko factory, they go to great lengths to minimise and sort their waste and have it recycled. The factory has a dedicated person who is responsible for the factory's environmental policy and trains all employees to sort waste correctly into the factory's 10 waste fractions. In general, there is a lot of focus in proper waste sorting and management at the factory, as well as water resources and wastewater being managed with great care.
In addition, the factory demonstrates social responsibility through a partnership with Interseroh - an international consultancy that supports their clients' sustainability work. The focus of the collaboration has been to spread the message of CSR through campaigns to raise awareness of organics and promote zero-waste and circular economy thinking among consumers in Poland. The factory also supports many local initiatives and has for many years been a sponsor of the local football club's children's team, in which some of the factory employees' own children participate.
