An insight into daily life at the factory

About Tårs

Environmental activities

At the factory in Tårs, waste sorting and energy optimisation are actively pursued, and collaborations are introduced to increase cardboard recycling and reduce food waste. In Tårs, a lot is done to sort waste, including sorting all plastic and foil, which Hjørring Municipality then collects and ensures is recycled. This is an environmentally friendly measure, as plastic production is challenging for the climate, and the already existing plastic should therefore be recycled.

In addition, the Tårs factory receives goods in cardboard boxes and instead of using resources to throw them in a cardboard compactor and arrange for it to be picked up, the Tårs factory has made a collaboration with Jyllands Kartonlager. Jyllands Kartonlager collects the cardboard boxes and recycles them for new purposes.

The factory has also built a wastewater treatment plant, where the wastewater from the factory's production is treated. The plant separates grease and oil from the waste water and recycles it into biogas.
